Weight Limit / restriction?

Hi Guys,
I used to weigh in at 21 stone but now down to just shy of 19st, this has purely been through mountain biking (3 months)... i've been doing roughly 14-16 miles 4 times per week at full pace....
I own a GT mountain bike which cost me roughly £700, im gonna keep it, as I love it, but was thinking of a road bike so I could do longer distance's and speed etc... I live in Cheshire (Lymm way) so i'm surrounded by miles of country roads, and more noticabely more road bike users...
my main reason is I've been looking at some specialized ones round the £500 - £700 mark (any recommendations welcome)
My real question though is the weight limit??? im still a fat lad and looking at those thin wheels (plus the lycra that goes with it) is there some kind of weight restriction/limit on road bikes??
many thanks in advance!

You'll be fine - I was 20 stone when I got my Alu Fuji with cheapo Alex wheels and had no issues at all.0

i was 21st 10lbs bought a bottom of the range claud butler and never had a problem with it, lost almost 3 stone and now ride a cannondale which does have poor wheels so im upgradeing them , but no the weight isnt a problem just dont be too agressive with the bike until you lose a bit more weight :?0

you might find the wheels complain a bit if their lightweights. i advise 32 spokes minimum. sure theyl go for a while ok, but in the long run they wont be happy. can still get pretty strong wheels that arent too heavy or slow, like a cyclo cross or trekking rim with internal bracing would be my bet.0

I am 18.5 stone and ride on Mavic Ksyrium Equipe's. They have been fine. Just try and avoid potholes wherever possible!0

Hi fella,
I am 17.5 stone, 6'7"
I have a full carbon rose road bike, its new to me and i ws a little wary of how it might perform in terms of carrying my weight but its absolutely fine.
No creaks or rattles, fits perfect, i have 110 in the tyres. No issues.
Get put there and ride.
