Le Tour Combativity Award
Having seen Geraint Thomas awarded this the other day it occurred to me that there probably have not been that many British riders who have done this. I am pleased to say, however, that it is 50 years last week since Ken Laidlaw of Hawick (Scottish Borders) did just that riding for Great Britain on Stage 16 from Toulouse to Superbagneres in 1961.
No prizes on offer from me, but can any of you come up with any others from over the years ???

I guess Millar must have won it for his stage victories in the 80's and his near miss when mis-directed by a gendarme. It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0
