Seriously - to get a set of wheels ~200g lighter than my current wheels (~1800g) I'd have to spend more than double amount of money that my current wheels cost. F**k that, I'll just train harder and spend the difference on bananas and amphetamines.

is it just about weight though?

Are there other benefits to more expensive wheels (other than making your wallet lighter)

I paid 190 for 1500g Pro-Lite Braccianos, but they've gone up since I think. Planet-X model B's are about the same weight and only 125 quid last time I looked.

No, there's the issue of flex under load too. And durability. And cartridge vs. cup & cone bearings. However I can only test one of those factors before shelling out a significant portion of my hard earned cash... and besides, I actually prefer cup & cone bearings.

How much difference would you realistically feel between 200gs?

Brian at twmp really rated the Lightweights but at £3k he was of the opinion they should be good. For most of us I think weight-loss/bananas and amphetamines are prob. the better way to go

Depends where the mass is. On the hub - probably not that much (200g is a good poo). On the rim that mass is rotating so more of an effect.
