Clicking sound?

Hey guys,
I have a 2009 cannondale CAAD9 Tiagra, I've noticed that recently it's been making a clicking noise when I'm climbing. The noise only happens on steep sections where I'm climbing out of the saddle and putting a lot of power down. It sounds like it's coming from the cranks or something but I'm not sure....I hope it's not the frame
Any suggestions what it might be and how I could remedy it?
Thanks.

Check the surplus cable out of the front mech isn't catching the crank arm. Frames have a bit of flex that can allow this.0

Had the same problem on all of my bikes, with the exception of the mtb (bb had gone) it has been the pedals every time.
When I have been lucky it was a case of remove pedals, bit of grease on threads, re fit and click gone.
Did however have to strip pedal down and grease internal bearings, which once you have the right tool for shimano pedals is an easy fix.Felt AR4

Thanks guys, I'm going to go out to the garage now and regrease the pedals, check a cable isn't catching and then give it a blast up the 20% hill next to my house XD See if it's fixed.
Cheers! :')0
