New planet x questions

Hi guys,

Just Got a White planet x carbon sl pro with some SRAM red parts, nice looking thing.

Should I wax the frame or anything before use? Any recommendations?

The wheels are the planet x a27s. I've also got some Mavic (£150) ones in the garage - which are best, should I just sell the mavics? They have a 12-28 cassette on so wouldn't work with SRAM 10 speed anyway. Anyone after these?

can't see the sense in waxing it, it's not a car. Swap the cassette and keep the other wheelset as a spare.

Wax it all you like, I rub mine down now and then with a bit of GT85 and it hasn't fallen to pieces yet. Still nice and shiny.

If the Mavics take a SRAM/Shimano cassette, you could get a chain tool and swap them round, so you can use either wheels and see which ones you like best. Mine came with Fulcrum 7s which have proved perfectly acceptable for club rides and entry-level racing. I suspect the PX ones will be at least as good, so unless you really like the look and feel of the Mavics it's probably not worth the bother.

Eh? Just because it's not a car, doesn't mean that wax won't help stop things sticking to it. Waxing will make it easier to clean, and a quick spray of Mr Sheen each time after washing will help.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

I guess you mean A57? If so then they're fairly heavy basic wheels. Are your other wheels Aksiums? If so I'd use the Aksiums and probably keep the A57 for commuting/training/winter use.
    More problems but still living....

I have the A57's, I got them for Touring and they ve saved on my road bike through lack of alternative options! The askiums are probably lighter (ie better!). If it's a ten speed cassette it will work fine with SRAM (although the hubs might be different!)

There are proper bike polishes available, the Muc-off one makes the bike smell of Cherry which is lovely! Does nt make much difference other than bling factor but it helps stop mud/road slurry sticking to the frame (I use it more on the MTB during races to stop mud sticking to the frame)
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Cheers guys, might stick the mavics on for a bit of bling! will have to get the cassette changed to a SRAM 10 speed.

Would brand new a57s fetch much cash on here?
