I have an Ultegra triple chainset and the middle chainring needs replaced, so as i cannot get an Ultegra chainring anywhere i bought a 105 chainring.
It has the same lettering on both but the bumps and little metal bits are different look at photos, will the new chainring work ok shifting etc? or do i need to keep looking for an Ultegra chainring.

see the bump to the right of your thumb. that lines up with the crank arm.

see how in your second pic. Same for the granny ring if fitted.

    it will be fine.

I know the little bits line up with the crank arm, it is the bumps and metal bits that are attached to the chainring that i am worried about. the metal bits on the new ring are a lot larger than the old chainring.

The metal bits are to aid shifting, shouldn't make any difference when riding.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
