KMC Missing link catching

Today I've replaced my Boardman HT drivetrain with a new 1x10 (XT derailleur, XT shifter, 32 tooth chainring, XT cassette). I also added a shimano HG94 chain and included a KMC missing link. However, the chain has been the biggest issue. It appears to catch on the XT rear mech (piece of metal in between the 2 jockey wheels) and the KMC link is even worse, as this physically gets stuck on each revolution causing the derailleur to skip, before it dislodges.
I've worked out that the shape of the KMC link has a raised section in the middle and it is this that catches.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any thoughts?
All parts are for a 10 speed (including the KMC link)

NB - The KMC is a bugger to link and unlink as well!

LOL, you're a genius. Just rechecked and it appears I have routed the chain the wrong side of the cage in between the two jockey wheels!
Just got to undo the KMC link again now!

All sorted, thanks peeps. It's the first time I've worked on a bike, had a big splurge on tools and was determined to get through it.
Now have a fully functioning 1x10 drivetrain!
Thanks again, feel a bit stupid though!
