boardman frames

Hi all!

Been thinking of buying a new frame to replace my battered up GT, seen boardmans out and about and quite fancy one.

My first question is, do Halfords sell the frames alone? I emailed them but got no reply (customer service as per from them...). I'm after the '11 boardman comp in medium.

And if they do sell them, does anyone know how much I can expect to pay?

Thanks

    Halfords do have shops.

And you can order them up, however I am unsure if that is just for warranty issues but you can say you snapped yours while doing a drop.

Also BBL frames are expensive, buy something else.

What sort of frame are you after, and what budget?

IMO Boardmans are only good because of the equipment you get, the frames aren't worth sh1t.
Been there done that got a Kinesis instead.

But there is nothing much wrong with the frames. Pretty light, a touch flexy maybe, but there is a lot worse from bigger brands.

I agree to a point they arn't bad but then again i have had two Boardman bikes and a Carrera Fury. The Fury got replaced for a Boardman comp ht because the frame cracked near the head tube and the replacment had the same problem out of the box. Then i had a pro hybrid, the rear triangle was twisted and the paint on both sides of the chain stay started to come off, for that i was refunded because the were out of stock of 2010 ones and i rejected the 2011 one on the grounds it was completely rubbish as a commuter bike.
I still have the comp ht frame but again the paint quality is crap.
Yes mtbs get scratched and chipped with use but the paint is so fragile it not funny.
Every one slags Halfords of for poor service but in my experience the service has been spot on and it has been the bikes that have been poor.
I now ride a Specialised Tri Cross Comp and a Kinesis xc 130 built up using the parts from my comp ht.
