Riding my daily 19 mile commute home, got pinned in by 2 cars and had no way to avoid this huge pothole, attempted to bunny hop but couldnt get all of the back wheel over, i heard a huge crunch and then the bike got real slow. I crept home the remaining 9ish miles. the bike was constantly wobbly and i could feel the buckle, has anyone got any ideas on a way to sort this out?

More to the point, has anyone got any advice on avoiding potholes?

Thanks All.

Time for a trip to the lbs I think.

It's possible to re-true a wheel by playing about with spoke tension, but I'd probably go for the option of having someone look over it just to make sure it's safe - shouldn't cost too much if it's repairable.

Go for a re-true, if that doesn't help it's new rim time and a re-lace.

As for avoiding potholes, it's quite good to know how to do even basic bunny hops on bikes, so when you do see one and can't swerve around, can minimize the damage as much as possible. Some are just unavoidable though, and those are the ones I hate
