Tyres for Alps trip....?

Hello :D

Off to Morzine on Saturday and I was planning to use my usual tyres there (technical xc rather than DH stuff) - am I a bit naive and daft doing this, or should I be using some sort of super-duper tyre?

I currently run with Panaracer Cinders all year round - yes, I know they're not the fastest but I am used to them and I like the grip and the fact they pretty much do the job in all conditions. Will they be ok? Or should i be shelling out for something different?

Cheers!

    Except the Alps

Snakeskin Nic + Ralph - indestructable, grippy, expensive. Fat Albert?
2.5 Minion DHF on the front, 2.35 DHF on the back?

Anything 2.4-ish and enduro-tastic should do it, you can always sell them on in Morzine before you come home

Yep, it'll be proper techy xc - lots of nice descents (I hope) but going up too!

Typical girl, I want the best of both worlds... A hardcore bomb-proof tyre that grips well but is also light enough to spin up nice technical climbs

Might try what i've got, and if they're awful buy some out there if needs be. Or steal some off Chris who's bound to take too many!

Total change of plan - found some Maxxis High Rollers in the garage and have put them on instead of the Cinders :D

Fingers crosed they will be a good compromise!

Thanks for all the advice :D

you can always shop when you're there. Some things aren't too badly priced.

I heard that Maxxis tyres cost a fortune out there, like twice as much.

I know, some things are reasonably priced but maxxis tyres are definitely not one of those things.
