Sorry to hijack your post but ...

Anybody know when they close the roads on Alp D'huez on the TdF day? I've got a ferry booked for 7:30pm on Thursday and plannign to gun it down through the night. Will I make it it time or is there no point in trying?

If Alp D'Huez is too tight i may head straight past a go for Col du Galibiere instead.

You will get no where near the Alpe by car on the day of the race. It will be full for vehicles the night before, probably even by lunchtime.

Galibier will already be full from the previous stage.

Drive as close as you can to Bourg, dump car and cycle / walk the rest of the way.

    enjoy.
