    best bit was the lovely old boy of 96 who was held prisoner by the germans and did his 2nd tour as an ex POW

    Really hope he makes it to 100

    Also the controversy about Hincapie and his almost yellow jersey

    Wasn’t hugely impressed with it tbh. I imagine some of the footage would look great on the big screen. Maybe one of the few films that would actually benefit from being in 3D? And a few interesting talking head pieces from Mercx et al.

    But it was more of a glossy brochure for HTC Columbia than a proper documentary. Far too partial and I got fed up with having ‘the tdf is tough’ rammed down my throat every 2 minutes – I get it already! Not too mention the Old Spice music at every opportunity. Very little insight or digging beneath the surface – except for the bit about Hincapie losing the chance for yellow. The ultimate TDF film has yet to be made I reckon.
