Wheel Question.

Have very recently purchased a new bike (carrera TdF Ltd Edition), took it out twice so far, the build quality (Halfords) was turd to be honest, have already had to adjust the front mech (chain rubbing in top 2 and bottom cogs) and have made adjustments to front brake (realised once id got it home that the brakes were touching the front rim) - and yes i should have gave it the once over in store, but i just assume even the numpty's in there can put a bike together. Have now noticed, that both wheels have a very, very (im being picky here) slight wobble to them, they both still have the reflectors on and wonder if this makes a difference to the movement. But is it normal to have a slight wobble, or should it be immaculately true? :?

Halfords should have carried out a pre delivery inspection. Which includes proper gear operation and adjustment of brakes. You should see an out of true wheel while checking the brakes. Go back to your shop and explain your problems. Don't let them give you the its only a £300 bike argumentNeil
Help I'm Being Oppressed0 -
First of all get them reflectors off they play havoc on fast downhills. Just checked my bikes one of which is over a year old and they run very true.....so how slight is slight I would say mine after a year of rolling are true to within 0.3mm at most!
Believe it or not my front on my orbea is still straight after getting jammed in a train track and throwing me off :shock:Felt AR4

Probably looking at half a mil or less here, but its enough to be noticeable when i give it a close up inspection, i don't immagine it effects much performance wise, its just an annoyance as im a little obsessive...0 -
Could it be the Sh*t Kendo tyres the bike was supplied with, or would it deffinately be the wheel?0

To be honest if you spin mine you have to look VERY hard to see any wobble at all, you certainly wouldn't notice it without looking for it close up. I would take it back as only few days old.
Will keep an eye out for ya doubt will miss you I assume it is the colourful yellow frame versionFelt AR4

Ah that's different my tire does appear to run out a little but rim is spot on, think tire looks untrue more as got coloured side wall so stripe is not true. If it's bothering you take it back for piece of mind, nothing worse than that in back of ya mind.Felt AR4

Yeah to be fair i have to look very close at the rim to see anything resembling movement, it looks possible a fraction of a mil, but from seated possition looking from above the tyre it looks worse, may have to take the tyres off and inspect it further. Yeah its the wasp paintjob, not dead keen on it but it was the best bike for what my budget allowed!
