Packing stuff!

Hello :D

Off to Morzine on Saturday and am starting to get my head around packing everything up....

I have a super new (I hope!) Evoc bag to take care of my gorgeous bike, but am now pondering about how best to pack my bike helmets. I am thinking about taking two - my usual xc one plus my FF one in case I get tempted to try somethng a bit more extreme, which is quite likely! I can fit my xc helmet in my hand luggage, but how the hell do I pack my massive FF??! :?

Can I pack it into my bag that's going to be checked in, and risk the baggage handlers? If it's well packed with clothes stuffed all around it, will it be ok? I appreciate that it's designed to be knocked about, but I want it to be 100% ok for when I use it (not bashed from being thrown about!)!

Any other ideas?

Wear it, will also help if the plane crashes.

I'd put it in the hold no probs, but watch out if the airline finds out they might charge you for it (plus everything in the bag with it).

If your hand luggage is a backpack, you might get away with strapping it on to the outside. Not 100% on that though.

Thanks guys... I guess I could always strap it to the outside of my backpack and if they kick up a fuss over it, move it into my bag for the hold? They can't charge me more for putting a FF helmet in my bag can they (assuming the weight limit isn't exceeded)?

This is sleazyjet though, so I guess anythng is possible :?

I remember one time returning from the UK with a new full face lid and I just carried it one to the Plane. Bit it would not fit in the overhead compartment and would not fit under the seat infront. I had to give it to a stewardess to store for me. It was only a small plane.

I usually chuck my xc lid in with the bike - not sure I would do anything idfferent with my full face (but I bought it after I got to BC). Definitely would put it in normal baggage with clothes and shiz. Albeit that it'd take upa fair whack of space.

Think i'm going to put my xc helmet in hand luggage and my ff in my hold bag (well packed with clothes etc!).
