My riding group are planning a 4 day riding trip in Afan soon. We are looking to go camping aswell!!! Any info regarding routes(marked & unmarked), campsites, etc would be gratefully recieved. Doing Cannock Chase in a couple of weeks & we are like kids on Xmas eve( our ages will not be revealed).

Happy riding & many thanks.

    Its bloody great at afan!
The marked trails are really good and quite challenging, I just started to list the good trails but they are all good!
When i've camped i've stayed at the Glyncorrwg centre its basic but cheap and the trails start there.
Only negative thing to say is be careful to keep everything locked away and out of site, to the extent of locking your bikes up in the car at night as the locals are somewhat sticky fingered

    Have fun

or lock it up in the visitors centre lock room that they will open for you. pretty secure

you planning on riding each of the 4 days? if yes you'll have to ride some of the trails twice to fill the days. 2 days is enough there really :?

you could always move up to cwmcarn for a day?

Thanks for the info lads, will look into moving if there's only a couple of days riding at Afan. Any route recommendations?

how fit are you guys? how far do you wanna ride in a day?

at afan there's only really 3 routes available:

    skyline: monster 50ishkm
    whites level: 18km iirc
    the wall: 23km iirc

(w2 combines both whites and the wall and is a great ride and the july trail which takes n parts of skyline but i've never personally ridden it)
