2011 Boardman HT Pro seatpost

Just bought the Boardman last week, my first MTB (2nd if you include the Raleigh Activator II, I had as a kid) and had great fun at Cannock Chase last weekend.
There, it was suggested changing the seatpost clamp to a quick release to save hassle if I ever want to adjust the seat.
Have just taken the seatpost out to measure the tube and the post was greased up with lube goo. I remember reading in the Big Blue Book that carbon seatposts shouldn't be greased? Is this correct? Should I clean it off, or bring it back to Halfords and moan at them, or just leave it?
I measured the seat post tube as 35mm, so I had been thinking of getting the Hope 34.9mm QR Seat Post Clamp. Would anyone agree/disagree with this size before I order one?
Thanks

grease is fine.
dont bother with a hope there are cheaper and better clamps."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

35mm seat clamp is correct... if you turn over your current seat clamp, it says so underneath
And you need a bit of grease, the carbon seatpost gets stuck quite easily with a bit of moisture/grit.0 -
Thanks for your replies.
The only thing it says on my current clamp is 5Nm, apart from that it is black with no other markings on it.0 -
