Bought some nice red fizik bar tape for my Trek 1.2, not as soft as the original ,would it be OK to tape over the existing tape for added grip and comfort?

Ignore the question below, can't delete it for some reason
Please help, new to this game but I want to upgrade from a hybrid to a road bike. Can any one recommend a good road bike@£700?

It should grip OK. I've heard that on tough races like Paris-Roubaix they double wrap the bars.

didn't see the ignore bit, sorry.

Double wrapping is fine as long as the tape under is well stuck. If you have large hands then why not?
