I honestly don't understand it. (I suppose it's possible I have a mild form of Aspergers)

If it makes you happier try one of the self assessment tests for asd that are floating about on the internet.

Back to the OP - I used to think Twitter (& facebook) were tosh. Now I've recently found a use for both noting that you can use them in your own manner - you dont necesarily have to broadcast anything to everybody.

Exactly, people that post what they have for breakfast don't get followed. I think most people these days just Twitter as a source of breaking or niche news and information rather than posting.

People complaining about people posting boring information are doing it wrong - just unfollow then and follow sombody that intrests you.

No, my friend. I am the other person. I've even closed my Facebook account because I got fed up with reading about people getting a new cow for their farm. Got my old mates' contact info and disappeared. Can't see myself getting enticed into "twitting". And at a spritely 83 I'm not an old fuddy duddy either.
