Looking at getting some new QR skewers but unsure what i would need, would it be 10mm and 9 mm

    9mm front, 10mm rear (measure the length of your current rear and order accordingly)

    You're thinking of Shimano I hope ?

    shimano Qrs only come in "one" diameter.

    and that is about 5mm

    10 and 9mm is the axle diameters.

    Thanks for the help, but it does not matter now, my bike has been in the shop for 2 days and i have just had a call to tell me the issue is frame related and not brake related as first thought.

    they have offered me a replacent exchange or refund, i am going to see what they have this afternoon, maybe looking at one of the following...
