Hi, can you guys reccommed a set of roof bars for a honda civic type R, the old model,
also a decent double roof mount for the things.

Silly question time.....if i was to buy x2 single carrier sets, would it do the same job as a double set?
Also could you fit 3 bikes on a roof system or would 2 be the max?
Regards

Check out Thule website, top quality with great design.

3 bikes possible but probably need to have one bike facing backwards to stop the bars clashing.

  • Sell the civic. I used to own an old style Type R and although it was a fantastic car to drive, its not very bike friendly. I did look for roof bars but the only ones i could find were from Honda direct and they weren't cheap. If you would still want a hot hatch that is bike friendly then a Golf GTI / Audi S3 are better options.

Just been buying a set of Thule roof bars with Pro Ride 591 cycle carriers for my Seat Ibiza. Set me back about £350 in total but the quality is outstanding. Not very often I'm 100% pleased with a purchase, especially when parting with that kind of cash but it is great gear.

I have a full set of Thule roof bars sat in my garage that i bought for my old shape 53 plate 3dr civic sport, assume it would fit a type R. None of it fits my current or iminent new car so could all be sold i suppose. Only used it once for a jaunt down to the west country, been sat in the spare room and now the garage for the last couple of years.
    Consists of
    Feet 754
    120mm Bars 761
    Fitting Kit 1228
    Short Roof adaptors 774

    I'm based near Darlington.
