New Fork Upgrade

Purchased a Carrera Vengeance Ltd Edition about 3 months back. Enjoying this entry level bike but have now released I'm going to be mostly using it for cycle tracks and some light trails rather than full off road. To cut down on weight I'm thinking of swapping out the Dart 1 forks for Kinesis Maxlight XLT Fork from wiggle.

This would save around 2kg off the weight of the bike and when joined with a pair of semi slick tyres would improve the speed. Am I going down the right track with this? Would it be a worthwhile upgrade and does anyone have this fork?
Thanks!
P.S My current setup is on youtube below

Or some carbon ones even cheaper. (Also have aluminium if carbon scares you)

Okay thanks I'll check it out. Would it be the best thing to upgrade to get the most bang for buck?0

Bang for buck = wheels and tyres.
Frame and fork make little difference to speed.0
