Guess What? New Bike......

Got into cycling about two years ago so I'm happy it's more than one of my passing phases. I'd therefore like to "invest" in a new bike (summer/fine weather steed) and keep my existing bike (56cm Allez triple) for commuting/winter use.
I'm looking for something very close to the geometry of the Allez, because I don't seem to have any comfort issues, but I'm wary of going to a geometry that is more "racy" (I'm nearly 43 and not as flexible as I once was. I can feel my neck if I spend too long in the drops on the Allez).
My other consideration is financial......a 24 month (or longer) interest free scheme would really help me out.
My favourite is a Lapierre Sensium 100 (55cm) with 105 compact set-up. Available from Formby Cycles on 36 months interest free. I would consider a Scott CR1, but can't find anyone doing interest free.
Specialized offer 24 months, but the Tarmac is more racy and the Roubaix just doesn't do it for me.
Any suggestions as to what / where else I should be looking at? Am I over estimating the effect of a slightly more racy geometry or right to listen to my body?
Cheers.

Don't know if you are near a Leisure Lakes outlet but they will do 18months interest free on any bike over £1500.
They stock a wide range of models but for your budget you might consider the Cube Agree GTC Race. Carbon frame, great spec and not too "racey" from the geometry standpoint

Within the Specialized range, have you discounted the Secteur Comp?

It has the same geometry as your Allez but the components are better - 10 speed Shimano 105 etc0 -
If you are comfy on an Allez then a Tarmac will be no different as they share identical geometry, I ride a Tarmac and have done for 3 years almost and have some serious back and neck problems and find it spot on, not too aggressive at all and fine on long rides; and on consecutive days.
I spoke to one of the chaps in my LBS a few weeks back funnily enough and asked him how the new Tarmacs were selling and he said due to people’s expectations about comfort there has been a surge in more 'relaxed' geometry purchases, Sector, Roubaix and the like, when the supposedly more aggressive models of some makes are themselves very comfy to ride and over long distances, even for us mere mortals.
I would give a Tarmac a test ride before you make your decision, they are an awesome ride.0 -
Thanks for the advice.....I think I'll sort out a test ride on a Tarmac and see how I get on. Cheers.0
