Screeching Mavic freehub again

Hi,
The freehub on my Elites has started to screech again while freewheeling. Took it apart, cleaned & lightly oiled. OK for 200 miles & now noisy again. What exactly causes the noise? & how do I get rid of it for longer than a couple of rides?
All help gratefully received.

Lack of lubrication or knackered bearings - metal on metal.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

The Mavic 'death screech' is well documented and sadly means its time for a new freehub body.
The nylon bushing has become worn or rough and it is thought it causes the freehub to oscillate and cause the awful noise- you can continue to relube- try 5-10wt oil instead of grease but as soon as the chain begins to back up over the cassette on fast downhills you must replace it.
Advanced mechanics can replace just the bush.
Check american sites for more info. google mavic death screech0 -

I found lubricating it with some Pedro's Road Rage (that or the Mavic mineral oil seem to be the recommended lube) worked and for a lot more than 200 miles. I'd give the relubing another go - it's only a 15 minute job after all - maybe use a bit more lube this time.
Mine are ksyrium sl - don't know if the hubs are different ?
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0
