Hi,
Just wondered if anyone was doing the Manchester -Blackpool night ride for the British Heart Foundation.
Starts at The Trafford Centre, Manchester to The Blackpool Tower Headlands.
Saturday 17th September Night - Sunday 18th September Sunrise.
I haven't got my pack through with my ride number yet which might give me an idea of how many are doing it.

I'm considering doing it, it's just the logistics of getting there and back as it's not a 'loop'. I just wouldn't fancy a 2 hour couch trip back to Manchester after a 50 mile ride.
I also need to convince a guy in our office NOT to do it so I can borrow his lights. My halogen setup with only last a couple of hours.
It's a shame the BHF can't partner up with a light manufacurer who'll let you 'trial' their lights for the night. Would be good advertising for them, and they might get some sales off the back of it.Wind. Cold. Rain. Pick two.0 -

I received my ride pack and the BHF have linked up with Hope lights. There isnt a trial but you can get 25% off lights from hope when bought before the event .My ride: Ribble New Sportive Racing0 -
Thinking of doing it also, just got myself a road bike and thought I'd try something a bit different. Don't suppose you know how hard the course is do you, not really done sixty miles before!0

It's a flat route, the maximum slope is 1.5% and that's near the beginning, from then on it's a gentle downhill to the coast. The total amount of climbing is 136 metres0
