Any ideas??
I'm trying to put together a build of a really tasty bike and have a max of £1500 left to spend on the frame after having selected the other bits....
If anyone has any suggestions of a really nice, light, stiff frame, I'd really appreciate cos I'm kinda floundering....
The bike is going to be used for racing next season, and training, etc until that happens.
Many thanks,
Nick

I bought the Giant TCR Advanced frame last year for £1500, can't really fault it. Depending on size there are some bargains on this frame on wiggle. Just checked they have it for £1050 in Medium and above sizes, a bargain at this price. If they had a small I'd buy another one for winter/training duty. I don't work for Giant by the way !0

Have a look at Canyon.com - some great deals often to be had.0

Have a look at an Argon 18 Gallium. Even has a clever adjustable headtube length (stiffer than spacers, and doesn't stress the fork so much) so you can set it up how you like it if you want it different between training and racing.
And it looks great too!0 -
What're you planning to put on it?0

If you want a quality frameset then why not a Cervelo S2?
My LBS (Billy Bilsland Cycles in Glasgow) can get you an S2 frameset for £1500.
Got a 54 and 56...........maybe a few others!!

Thanks all.
I'd never really considered Cervelo...not sure why...I think, in my head it's more of a tri brand for some reason. :?
Also, I don't know why but i'm not that drawn to Canyon either...I am a little reluctant to buy a bike I can't test.
I do really like the look of the Argon 18, but never seen one in the flesh...anyone got any expereince with this bike?
I'm looking at are the BMC Race Machine RM01 (Any views on this?)...
Kit I'm planning on putting on it:
- Ultegra Groupset
- Ksyrium Elite / SL wheels
- Specialized Toupe pro saddle
- Not sure about bars / stem yet....I need to have a little feel of some in my LBS."Bite off more than you can chew, and chew like hell!!"0 -
wait for 2011 felt f1 frame or felt f2 frame...to get cheaper

or maybe a boardman 9.8.
My top 5:
1) Boardman Air 9.8 (substantially under your budget)
2) http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bmc ... t-ec024686
3) http://www.bikescene.co.uk/Specialized- ... 5-0-0.html
4) Bianchi Sempre http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/produ ... meset_2011 (Blue/White)
5) Raleigh SP Team (http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/produ ... meset_2011)0 -
I would be VERY tempted by Boadmans new flagship frame Air 9.8, seems alot of frame for the money.
Other than that, Stork srpings to mind as something a bit different!0 -
Have been impressed with my 2011 Kuota Kebel frameset.
UK Youth Team (including Markus Backstead) have been riding them. Look good and ride well too.
Could do a lot worse and not seen many about.0 -
