I really want to buy a good quality chest/helmet cam, but, being a student, I can't really afford any of the ones I've seen around. What is the cheapest I can get a decent quality chest/helmet cam?
Just ride.

What part of 'student' and 'can't afford' and 'cheapest' did you miss?

I'm a cheap student and can't afford most things..
However, I did just pick up a D001 mini DV for around 20 pounds, and an 8GB c4 SD memory card.

The quality is good, there are plenty of demo videos on youtube..

I'm still not convinced by any of the footage I've seen from them in darker, shady areas, such as forest. YMMV of course. which is why I said "may" not "will".

Fcuk that! I had more disposable £££ at Uni than I do now! (allbeit in the form of a loan, but my tv, sound system, 1st proper bike, xbox, etc etc etc are all funded by you lovely tax payers  )

Admittedly, loans and student thing has completely changed but thats another story. Sorry for gloating.

    Whats your budget?

It does seem that the students I know do generally have more disposable income.

Hence my point about anything less.....at the end of the day you get what you pay for (is most instances) so what I why trying to say and it does not take a genius, is if you buu a cheaper camera for £40 say the images are offten shite, so you wanted to see your self hammering down trails and you can't make most of the images out....so you have wasted £40....

Being a student...simple have 3 pints of stella not 10, and in no time you will have enough for a decent cam you will be over gthe moon with...
