I've got one. I'm 5' 9" (plus a wee bit) and have a 54cm frame as recommended by the Ribble website and a phone call I had about sizing.

My previous bike was a 56cm Ribble audax.

Both are comfortable but I reckon I am on the upper limit of the 54cm and the lower limit of the 56cm.

Depending on your upper body to leg length proportions I would suggest you would be at the very top end of a 56cm perhaps even too big. Worth giving them a call.

56cm will be horribley uncomfortable for you i reckon. I'm 5'9 and sometimes wish i'd got an XL

5'9" and wanting an XL! You must have arms like a chimp.

the frames are really compact, I have my seat post quite high and I started with a 110mm stem but I've now changed to a 130mm stem

my Giant that i ride daily is a 56cm and its more comfy for a day in the saddle.

Clearly a bad choice of Ribble in your case - all the other Ribble carbon bikes are longer than the Gran Fondo.

well i did say sometimes, it doesnt bother me much tbh. But I could ride the XL happily and i know it would be abit kinda on my back if i was in the saddle all day.

but someone who is 6'4 you should be riding atleast a 58cm frame I would have thought. Having a sloping top tube means that the seattube will be lower than usual. so a long seat post is in order too

just got the ribble gran fondo 56 xl size i am 6ft 1 and its perfect for me i honestly think you would want to go for the 58cm tbh if your 6ft 4 as the xl is not as big as you'd think
