'Noisy' Elixirs

Hi guys
I've got the original set of Avid Elixir R SL's on my SJ FSR. The front brake seems to make what I can only describe as a scoring noise in use. Braking power seems to be ok, however, it's made the noise from the start so I don't know any different.
I've cleaned up the rotors and pads, which makes the noise disappear until everything is 'bedded' back in and the noise starts again.
Not sure what the pads are but they look like resin/metal type, is this noise i'm experiencing typical of this type of pad? Any other Elixir users have similar issues?
The back brake doesn't appear to make the noise (though it does make a chirping noise quite a lot like the brake is rubbing now and again!), but then it doesn't get used quite as hard. Thinking about it, guess I'd best try swapping pads front to rear and report back!

Cooldad,
No, there's plenty of 'meat' left on them0 -
Avids are well known for being noisey brakes, i did have a set of juicey 5's and whatever i did they just always made noise. Organic pads can make a bit of difference but are a little expensive.
Just sell the avid's and get some hope's cant beat the best of british.2008 Kona Dawg Deluxe http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z39 ... luxe%2008/

Im having the same problem on my elixir 5s, to me it seems just the pads have worn to quick and become crappy. Have you tried anything yet?0
