title says it all, was due to do it with my daughter but she broke her wrist (mtb/chalkpit lane incident while wife was away on holiday - gulp)
Wondered if any Bikeradarers were doing it?

I'd completely missed this... sounds similar to the ride I was planning for tomorrow!

  • Agree poorly advertised. Might just turn up and register on the start.

So did you go for it? I got up very late so completely missed it... I'm curious to know where the courses went.

I headed up over KV, Inholms, Up Marden and Telegraph hill to Harting and met one rider coming the other way on what I assume was the short course. I then followed some of the long course through West Harting Down but I headed over Ladyholt and lost the route there... I'm interested to know if there is another interesting off-road route back to KV. By the time I was back at Inholms I was following the signs again.

    Maybe next year.

  • Yes did the the 55km route although not in spectacular time, signage was a bit hit and miss and the one of the signs got moved near West Harting Down which had us going round in circles until some walkers put us right. Hope you can work it out from this http://connect.garmin.com/activity/98123993 but I'll work out how to post the gpx file if that's better?
After West Harting the route went down to Chalton, past Cowdown Farm, onto the B2146 for a hundred yards the off left up over Telegraph Hill, Locksash Farm, Stoughton them Walderton and up over Walderton Down to Kingley Vale. I've ridden a lot of it before apart form the West Harting bit.

Did it in 3:55 but wasted at least 15 minutes trying to work out the routes in different places.
  • just seen the results and I'm really hacked off. My chip time was 3:54 yet my time was given as 4:06 - 12 minutes adrift. All the other riders times are within seconds of their chip time? My garmin also supports my chip time at 3:55.

I've submitted a complaint linking my garmin results, not that it will make any difference!
