My head looks like a mushroom...

... with my current helmet.

Does anyone have any reccommendations of any helmets that are less mushroom like?

I have been thinking about getting a Catlike one as I thought they looked quite slimline.

Please can nobody reply with the standard comments about how I should be looking for safety first. I am old enough to make my own descision and I am happy that all the major manufacturors helmets are safe enough for the type of contact I would expect them to suffer. I also appreciate I need one that fits me so I will be trying some on.

I'm not being funny there but I know how these threads go! :D

Thanks in advance.

Ben

Isn't that what one mushroom said to the other when he was asked "why do people keep asking me on nights out?"

I have never seen a mushroom that looks like a cyclists helmet.

Maybe check out some TdF photos and see what they look like ?

We don't know what helmet you have and it's just your perception anyway - so hard for us to be much use.

As an aside, have you seen the trailers for the Manchester Jewish programme.

Casco attack. Not sure if made now. But prob can still be bought new. Perhaps coolest of the normal style helmet. Not talking bout the sort that hoy wears , it's like what you have but slimmer etc.

I had same thoughts as you, and rode 120 miles the other day to try as many different helmets on as possible - I'd say the Catlike Kompact or Kompact Pro are the most "low profile" available, and aren't silly money compared with some

Dissapointingly predictable. Do you cycle in a sack?

I liked my catlike whisper, until it broke in a fall, now can't seem to find any more.

I've got a Bell volt now.
