    ^^ What he said ^^

That's a very good deal, might order a set for my old xc hardtail.

I'm thinking about buying the solo airs too to replace my coil 302. Can anyone tell me if they are a good fork or not?

I guess your refering to the hardtail in my link, that's my downhill/freeride bike & it's the most fun bike I have ever ridden. I use it for downhill racing, freeride & jumping off stuff in the local quarry. Cost around £1200 to build though I could have done it for around £800 with more second hand parts.
My xc hardtail is a Specialized Hardrock that I have converted to single speed but at the moment has dead forks.

The O-One will be a little heavier than your Carrera but lots of fun. I wouldn't recommend the Summer Season unless you plan on riding pretty hard, the standard 456 would be better as a all round trail bike

  • This may sound like a no brainer but is there much difference between the Tora 302 solo air and the Suntour XCM V2 i have on my Vulcan?

    Is it a worthy upgrade??

Plenty! The 302 is lighter, stiffer, more adustable, has damping (controls the fork ie not a pogo stick), performs way better, superior build and sealing - this would be a great upgrade. You can easily reduce travel too.

Cheers Sonic are these the cheapest place you can get these from???

Must admit the Suntour fork is terrible even on cobbles!!!

Yes, will not find cheaper than that.
  • I am going to order some....only need a set of lighter wheels to complete my upgrade now!

    Tora £120 is a bargain!
  • I've a second generation Inbred and the blurb says 120mm max travel- would another 10 make any difference really, or could it be reduced somehow?

Yes, can be reduced with All Travel spacers.
  • Good grief just googled All Travel Spacers and now am pretty confused ! Do the forks come with them seems to be a kit for £12.50(x2??), seems very complicated involving oil removal and needing clean workshop facilities or disaster looms. Could I just run the Inbred with the 130mm travel for a slacker angle? Lot of hassle for 10mm would it really mess the handling that bad or stress the frame?!
Or is the spacer thing easier than it seems?
    ta for any advice.....

Yeah, 130mm will be fine. You could run a bit more sag or drop the travel a little with more negative air anyway.

Oooh, I may swap out my leaking 302 coil for one of these puppies!
How straight forward would it be to reduce to 100mm for my rockhopper?

  • It's got Kona P2's at the moment, but these seem a total bargain and TBH I find the P2's well twitchy, would prefer a slower steering bike for the trails round here. I doubt On One would sanction it but I reckon these forks would stress the frame far less than rigids do!
Where's me credit card..... 8)
  • Will keep the rigids for if I ever get the time to go touring.....

EDIT: they are solo air! But you could run a touch more sag.
  • Think they'll be fine at 130mm, seems folk have run the older Inbred(100 max) with forks this size with no probs and the newer frame is good for 120mm so reckon they'll be fine.

As long as I don't end up looking like some dude from "Easy Rider" ...cheers for the advice SS ! 8)

Would the 302 solo air be much better than the 302 coil?

I do hope the OP gets some, I genuinely feel guilty that he's turned us all on to them, just hope that JEJAMES keep the offer open til then and they're not sold out, still 2 weeks to go tho!
