Living The Dream

The wife and son are away at the moment, so how did I choose to spend my night of freedom?

Stripping down my old bike in the living-room while eating takeaway pizza and watching TdF highlights.

I think this is how the 'other' half live

I spent last night building wheels and drinking double espresso on the kitchen floor while gossiping and having a really good laugh with a friend who I haven't seen for ages.

Frickin' excellent way to spend time if you ask me.

I agree completely with your sentiments.

I may, or may not have had to strategically move one of the sofas a couple of inches

I also have rear derailiuer and a chain currently drying in the sink, a few oiley handprints on the side of the bath and one ruined towel.

Do you think I could blame it on a bike obsessed burgler?

No. I think you're doomed! If you are getting told off, then you have my permission to drop the line: "well Ben off the forum... he once dismantled an inlet manifold - complete with carburretors - in his mum's sink. So it could be worse."

You left out the part that involves "enable private browsing" and the trawling of the internet for some filth.

Mrs Dmclite once caught me washing car wheel trims in the dishwasher. Although I paid for the dishwasher, I pay the mortgage and all bills, i was reduced to a wretch seeking forgiveness.

They came upa treat, BTW

Lol. I'm still trying to convince the wife to let me put a bike rack on the new extension wall. Shove the bike on it, call it artistic display. Don't think it will happen somehow
