My sister has given me her bike to sort it out and get it running. It has been stripped down and built up by her husband but with a few issues which I shall be sorting out.

One of the main issues are the wheels, they are very buckled and as I've never attempted to true a wheel I'm looking for some advise.

I'm just about togo looking for the Park Tools guides but any advice in the meantime will be appreciated.

Matthew

Depending on how badly buckled they are the rims may actually be bent so you can't true them with any degree of success

This is true. Being honest the bike is ready for the scrapheap but my sister can't afford to replace it this year so anything I can do to make it better and keep it running will be of great benefit to her and my nephew.
