New chainring too big

I bought a new chainring for my commuter.
I went up to a 52T single chainring. The only problem I have now, is the the frame is in the way. Is there any way of still installing this chainring, ie some sort of a spacer to move the chainring more outwards?

    What type of bottom bracket do you have? SS/FG or geared?

    I have a singel chainring in the front with an 8 speed cassette in the back.

    new BB.

    mount it in a different place.

    change the frame.


    More info needed.

    what is the bike. the cranks. the BB etc etc etc.
