Route Advice: Richmond to London Bridge

Hi
I have a possible change in working location on the horizon and after a dry run on the trains I am keen to determine the best route by bike. The route would be roughly Richmond to London Bridge.
My current bike commute is very short at 3 miles, but this appears to be closer to 13 http://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/892433/ and through areas I am pretty unfamiliar with!
Does anyone have any recommendations/experience?
I am planning on doing a few dry runs, but it would be good to have a baseline in addition to the cyclestreets suggestion!
Thanks
Jon

down the south circular pop over putney bridge take new kings road, hang a left to the embankment and follow it along.
quite apart from being fast it's also fairly easy navigation, probably 30 to 45 mins depending on traffic.
It's the route I use for getting central myself.0 -
That, or stay south of the river. Upper Richmond Road to Wandsworth, then onto York Road/9 Elms to Vauxhall, continue along Albert Embankment to Waterloo, and on to Southwark Street. I did the second half of this for a few years and I find the traffic to be more forgiving. CS8 goes through Wandsworth now too.0

Thanks - both look doable, I will plan some dry runs!
Cheers

I do richmond park to canary wharf and tried south and north of the river. I much prefer the putney bridge, new kings road, embankment route. Flows better and motoring habits seem slightly less lethal than south of the river.

What Koncordski says. I do Richmond to the Wharf and the usual route of Upper Richmond Road - Lower Richmond Road - Putney Bridge - NKR - Embankment is best. I find it substantially quicker than going through Wandsworth or south of the river."Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

I can vouch for the embankment too. Usually pretty decent although it can get windy sometimes at Millbank.
Putney Bridge
Right into New Kings Road
Up to Lots Road, down there
Turn left just before Chelsea Harbour
Along Embankment all the way
A nice ride0
