Places to lock a bike or storage in Paris

Does anyone have any experience of locking up bikes outside in Paris or can you recommend a good storage facility?
I'm riding over for the end of TDF and I've had an email from my Hostel to say they can no longer store my bike and have suggested locking it outside. I'm not keen, my bike is worth a lot to me and although it's insured I'd be gutted if it were to be stolen. I'm arguing this but if they say no I can't force them and I suspect chances of finding somewhere else to stay are slim.
If I have to lock it up in Paris I'll be using two good locks and may be even a cable through the saddle but I never leave my bike outdoors and don't want to start now, I'm guessing I may struggle on TDF weekend though
I've emailed Blue Marble in the hope they have somewhere, just wondering if others can recommend anywhere.

Store it in your room.
Done the L2P twice now and never had any problem leaving it in your room.0 -
Last time I carried a bike bag which would enable you to take it into your room without
any argument. On race day I locked it to a stand off Champs with heavy duty Abus cable lock
with no probs. Too many gendarmes patrolling to put off the scallys I guess.0 -
Thanks for the responses, much appreciated. I'll bear that in mind.0
