What do they knock out that might help a 100 mile a week max, 70-80 mile sportive rider in his 40's.
When ever I go into my local store I have a look at the potions and powders and leave with some flapjacks and licorice.

And typically my 2 favourite flapjacks - Banana, Rum & Raisin - are no longer available
+1 for the protein tho, i add a tablespoonful of Nesquick for extra taste0 -
I used to go to Holland and Barrett for broken mixed nuts. But let's face it, you can get those for free on cycling forums.0

Last time i was in there they had some gels on buy one get one free - walked out with a dozen for less than a eight quid which i didn't think was too bad0

Its been a while since I bought whey protein from Myprotein, but I don't remember it being that expensive - almost £20 (including postage) for 1kg. Have they put the price up by a few quid in the last few months?More problems but still living....0 -

That's what I'm saying, it's cheaper than H and B. Currently £14.49 plain or £15.49 flavoured.
Brin - why do you use Nesquick, the flavoured ones are fine."There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0 -
If all you bought was flapjack and liquorice then I think you made the right choice. Who need all that other crap??0

Agree with the buy one get one free on Powerbar stuff.
Always clean them out of bars and gels when they have this offer.0 -

That won't be any help at all actually, as he's been whacked with the ban stick.

A friend of mine, she's a nutrition and supplement expert. She knows I don't use supplements so has nothing to gain by telling me that the stuff at Holland & Barrett is sh1te.Ben

That £14.49 is for 2.45kgs though, compared to £44.98 for under 2kgs on H&B's present deal, even if you walk to the shop to save p&p."There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0 -

No - £14.49 for 1kg unflavoured impact whey protein. £26.49 for 2.5kg unflavoured. Still cheaper than H&B, but not that cheap.More problems but still living....0 -

Yes, my silly mistake  . I don't think you'll find it cheaper though. 2.5 kgs is a lot of protein unless you're weight training and taking it 3 times a day or so. One of their scoops for a post ride recovery drink makes it last a while."There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0
