    Bit harsh.

I will check it out for you. Front page looks good, will read it properly from home.

very harsh. BikingBecky was on here last year advertising her website and got really positive responses to it. I hope it goes from strength to strength she's done a great job. The other response is just what you'd expect from a troll.

I signed up some time ago and get regular updates and snippets of advice. Useful resource and very personalised. Not big corporate stuff.

Good turbo training download too. Just wish I had the discipline to follow it!!! :(

I will take a peep from home, sounds good, and nothing to lose anyway! There are loads of questions on here from people asking which pedals, which shoes are compatible, how do you fit cleats, blah blah blah, so good on you Rebecca for spotting an opportunity, and I will wager a few quid I find plenty that I don't know.

I thought the website looked very interesting with a good range of subjects. No sign of any trolls lurking either, which can only be a good thing :)

crack on then...no skin off my nostrils....

Perhaps everything could be put into downloadable PDF format and then you wouldn't need a beginners forum..... ;)

    Maybe both have their values?

    I'm sure that's true. I've changed my mind - it's a cracking idea.....

I disagree. The easycycling site has lots of articles with good information. Ask a question on here and you always get the "continental 4 seasons tyres are the best! How do I know? They work for me!" answer

And cleats / pedal systems are a bit confusing. Anything that makes them a bit more obvious has to be a good thing

ok - I accept that the info may be useful, but I still don't accept that is any more useful than asking on here. Possibly less so...

I've just been reading the article on 'choosing wheels & tyres for sportives' :

    http://easycycling.com/?p=2222

No real info on how the 'Kooka Karba' wheels were selected, or what other wheel sets were considered, or why they were eliminated - although you are given a fairly random list of alternative wheelsets at the end. Personally, at that price I'd have gone for EA70s or even PX Model Bs - neither of which are mentioned, both of which are lighter and cheaper than the chosen wheelset. As for tyres, it just says "I recommend Conti attack/force" or words to that effect. Again, no info on what other tyres might be worth considering apart from a random selection at the end - as before, it's not a combo I would personally choose.

Nothing actually wrong with any of that, because in the end, it all comes down to personal opinion anyway. I have no wish to be critical of sites like that, but you are only getting one person's opinion there. At least on a forum you have the opportunity to hear a bit more balance.....possibly.....

Incidentally, the above is only my own opinion, which is just as worthless as anyone else's...

While you can get just as qualified answers on here, maybe having the resource available to read it in 2 seconds what you need instead of typing everything out and then waiting for a reply is a bit more useful?
  • Any input as long as it is correct or offering valuable opinions or views is no bad thing, not everyone wants to wade through some of the stuff that goes on here (or the length of some of my posts) or have to deal with the trolls.

Keep up the hard work BikingBecky. 8)
