Integrated press-fit bottom bracket?
Hi, I've got to the stage where I am absolutely fed up using the LBS for several reasons, mainly I'd rather save the hassle of things reoccurring two miles up the road.
I have a Giant TCR advanced and the ultegra 6700 crankset is creaking like mad. What tools do I need to remove the crankset and then remove the bottom bracket? I also would like to know what type is this bottom bracket and where can I buy it (link?)? Finally, what tools would I need to install the new press-fit bearings?
Hope that is clear, thanks in advance.

If its an Ultegra 6700 crankset then it should be using a 6700 Hollowtech II BB,which is not a press fit type, you just need the special wrench to undo/fit the external bearing cups, the one ive got also has a tool to remove the plastic cap in the non drive side crank arm, before blaming the BB check the chainring bolts and pedals as if the threads are dry this can cause creaking noises.0

Err.........The Giant TCR uses push in bearings for sure, which Shimano provide.
I think it's these you need: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-dura-ac ... press-fit/
You'll need to check on that though as there's multiple types of push in bearings.0 -
Yeah didnt know about these :oops:0

Removing the crankset is easy. On the non-drive side unscrew the plastic end cap, undo the 2 skt screws then swing the locking plate out and the crank arm will pull off. The drive side chainwheel & crank will now just slide out.
To remove the press-fit BB30 bearings tap them out with a drift, make your own or buy the appropriate tool for someone like Park Tools.
Assembly is the reverse of disassembly
