Headset and spacers working loose.

Have recently noticed that my headset and spacers have become loose allowing a slight movement in the fork if the front brake is applied. I was advised to tighten the star nut bolt, pulling the whole lot tighter. Is there a max reccommended torque for this or could it be another problem ? Thanks for any advise.

    Just tighten until there is no play but the steering still moves easily and smoothly.
    You are loosening the stem bolts first?

    Yes loosened stem first and have done as you advised. All seems good, many thanks for your help.
