Going to run a dual ring with bashguard and Blackspire stinger. Which front mech would be best for a dual ring set up.
At the moment i have a Deore front and XT 9 speed rear.

SLX double, or keep your current one and wind the stop screw in a bit.

Just use the one you have.

Well the SLX is designed specifically for a 22t 36t set up, which is what i will be running. So would the shifting be as efficient with my existing mech?

The curve is tighter on the SLX mech, so it'll 'sit' better over a 36t middle ring, some people find a normal one rubs a bit more, some find it fine. You may as well try with what you have in the first instance. I've always used triple mechs and found them perfect, but then I've never used smaller than a 28t ring, so the tighter radius on the front mech cage isn't an issue.

I think most people just 'limit' out the big ring shift. Seems to work perfectly for me, but I've never tried a double mech.
