Evening folks.
By the looks of it the stock bottom bracket on my fsa chainset is shot; does anyone know if the FSA chainsets are compatible with Shimano external BB's or not?
Cheers

they are the same diameter but you may need to shim the cranks up to get the right preload."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Freaky...I was just looking for an answer for this myself only yesterday! Very curious myself as I am hoping to replace my BB soon.nicklouse wrote:they are the same diameter but you may need to shim the cranks up to get the right preload.
What sort of shim do you mean? Not sure where you would put such a shim.Lapierre Spicy 316 2012

possibly on the axel.
FSA have many different BBs for the different cranks. they are not all the same width."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

So spacing it horizontally? For example, if the HT2 BB was narrower, would I have to add spacers to the FSA crank spindle to take up the extra space?

or in the threads it all depends on so many things.
most aftermarket BB suppliers show FSA as a separate option."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

check the currently installed model and get that one.. I have FSA Gravity GAP Mega Exo 'Quad' BB 7550 these certainly aren't compatible with standard HTII due to them having doubled the bearings, resulting with the BB cups being bigger than standard HTII
but if its a standard MegaExo then HT2 will fit...
sorry for any confusion this may cause but i've had a similar issue with the same chainset0 -
Not all FSA MegaExo BB/Cranksets are the HT2 spec, they use different BB axle/spindle diameters, Mine for example is thinner than HT2 spec at 19mmMountain: Orange Patriot FR, SubZero & Evo2LE.
