Hi,

I have just converted my front hub to 20mm and fitted my RS Revs, the play I am getting in the wheel is horrendous ! .. I thought it was a loose headset at first.

The 20mm hub spacers do not fit very well onto the hub and the play im feeling is almost certainly from these.

Am I fitting them wrong OR are they gash !?

Thanks

    I've e-mailed them..

I tried it without the spacers and the play is still there so it must be the bearings possibly ?!

Probabaly a stupid question, but.... The axle on the forks is 20mm right? Not 15mm?

I'd say its either play in the bearings or some sort of manufacturing fault with the adaptors.

I have Superstar Switch hubs and use it with RS Revelations with a maxel and have no issues.

Yeh axle is 20mm. I ran 15mm Fox beforehand so ordered the adaptors and forks together.

Hubs are only a week old ??

    sounds like poor fitment.

have a look at what you have no and see what is wrong.

    where is the play?

    Reply from Superstar:

"Hello please read the SRAM manual for correctly installing the 20mm thru
axle. The hub needs to be correctly installed or it will wobble about.

Any questions please let me know"

I am quite dillegent at putting bikes together, anyway I checked the manual just to be sure and I am not doing anything wrong. There is of course no manual to suggest how the 20mm adaptors fit onto the hub, I could only see that they push on ?

Is this were I am going wrong ?! Im not convinced its me...

Is it a new style open ended maxle? if so, it could be that the maxle isn't clamping tightly enough and needs adjusting.

    Watch this ..

this is the issue I am getting which I reckon relates to when the maxle is fitted.

Yes it is. It did need adjusting out of the box but is fine.. well apart from the wheel play anywho !

Well, the maxle (of which I have tried two) moves around in the hub the same as you see in the video. This translates to movement in the wheel, if you grab the top of the wheel and push and pull it, it moves a couple of mm with a knocking noise. I did not get this with the same hub and the 15mm adaptors on Fox Fork.

Mine are exactly the same as in the video. When bolted into my Pike, there's no movement at all.

I'd say either the tolerances are off somewhere between the fork and adapters/hub, or the bearings are slightly more worn than mine and need replaced.

do you want some help? if not take it to your LBS and pay them to sort it.

I can not offer any Help id I can not see the problem.

and I as I have said I can not see any problem yet. the cup moving is not a problem.

Checked the video, mine are exactly the same. When everything is put together, with 20mm maxle revs, everything is nice and tight. You got a video of the wheel wobbling with everything put together?
