Guys,
Is anyone running Oro 24's with 180mm Hope floating (Saw) rotors?
I understand that there were clearence issues with Avid calipers; just want to make sure before I buy
Thanks
Rick

I'm not sure but they are new from Merlin http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/Bike+Shop/MTB++Parts/Brakes/Disc+Brakes/Formula+Disc+Brakes/Formula+Oro+K24+Disc+Brake+Set+-+Front++Rear_F-ORO-K24.htm
I want a larger 180mm disc up front and like the asthetics of the gold Hope floaters; why?Rockin': Specialized Rockhopper 2008

Hope aren't the only floating rotors you know - Shimano do ICE tech and Super star do a range. They only quote rubbing problems with some FOX post mounts....
Don't forget you'll also need the correct bracket for your fork setup to take a 180mm0 -
Yep I've seen the Formula R1 floating 180 which looks good; but can't find a matching 160 for rear.
I was just hoping someone on here had first hand experience on a match and fitting.
Thanks

I run a 183mm Hope Floating Saw rotor with my rear Oro K24 without any serious problems. Only problem is that the rivets run on the bottom of the pad backing plate when the pad material is getting low. I would say don't bother TBH, they weigh more than a lot of other rotors anyway. I only used it because I had it lying around, will be swapping for the 180mm rotor on my dads bike if the floating rotor works with his brakes and when I can be bothered0

The standard Formula rotors are some of the best in the business anyway. Very light and look decent too without killing pads in no time like alligator rotors.0

I've bought a 180mm SS front floater so will see how it goes..Rockin': Specialized Rockhopper 2008

Aye, Shimano do 2-part rotors but there's no float.Uncompromising extremist0

I use K24's with Hope floating rotors (f-203 r-185). As long as you get the correct adaptors (I've used Avid ones) they should be fine. Rivets don't rub on the caliper or anything. Only problems I've had/got are the clearance is miniscule between the spider on the rotor and the mount adaptor. Nothing a good filing hasn't sorted though.Trek Remedy 7 2009

Reporting back on the SS 180mm..
Looks good, and "just" rubs the rivet on the rotor using the SS 180-P-P adaptor; so inserted as stainless washer between the caliper & post (bottom only) and voila; jobs a goodun.
Now onto bedding them in correctly; any tips?
Hope this helps someoneRockin': Specialized Rockhopper 2008

I hope you used two washers. one on each end.
bleeding get/make a bleed kit and download the formula bleed info. and watch out for the small O ring in the caliper bleed port."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
