I have a high mount bike rake that I used to use on previous cars, something like this.

I have roofbars and carrier on my Mazda but not on my ford focus. It has a small spoiler on the boot so I'm wondering whether it is safe to use the high mount rack or if I am risking damaging the spoiler. The advice on the internet seems to be mixed so I was hoping for some advice on here. Pic on the car shape/spoiler below

I had no problem with my old car with a window spoiler. Just need to mount it as high as you can so the straps don't push down on the spoiler

good point, tried it last night at the highest setting and it clears the spoiler comfortably.
