    I'm certainly full of admiration for the volunteers. We were just annoyed becasue we'd prepared ourselves for the Giao and then were denied an opportunity to ride it. The only way to do so was to remove our dibbers and ride as 'non participants', which I thought was a shame (and we lost EU10 in the process).

    Given the amount of organisation work that goes into the race (photos, web, even videos) then this seemed a messy end to what had, up to then, been a fantastic ride (have I mentioned the strudel...).

    Note to all future riders:

    The cutoff is 11:40

    Local media reporting there were three positive tests for doping at this year's Maratona (out of 12 tests in total!) - apparently the winner of the women's race, the number 4 of the men's, and the winner of the men's 106km. They're competitive events these...
