I've lost a bar end plug - bianchi, and it seems that they are only available as a package with the tape, and hence expensive.

So, do I just get new push in ones or replace them with more expensive expanding ones, if the latter are any more safe.

As the title says this is not the purchase of the year nor even perhaps of the hour, but a little advice would be appreciated, especially if any recommendations can be made.

Thanks in advance.

I've only ever used cheap push in plugs, just wrap a bit of insulating tape round them to ensure a snug fit.

as above, push-in ones, i add bit of bar tape in the slots to help wedge them in

the coloured cinelli ones are nice for a bit of bling, under a fiver

otherwise ask your lbs, they've probably got a box of plugs and may just give you a couple
