Drops / steps to practice on at Swinley
I ride Swinley a fair bit and I'm looking for some drop-offs / step-downs to get some practice on with a view to upping my altitude. However I can't really think of any small and medium sized ones. Most trails have none at all and then there are a few really quite large ones (for me) e.g. just off the fireroad at the high end of The Wall. I'm not up to dropping off that one just yet but need something more than just a foot or two which is all I seem to find.
Any ideas?

There are a few near the clubhouse - if you are coming up the fireroad after the wall, just before the fireroad before the clubhouse (that you would come if you went down one of the downhill trails) there's a small path off to the left - follow that and there's a trail down with some small jumps, berms at the bottom etc - to the left of that trail there are a few drops and jumps, including the newly named 'Tim's drop' as he ended up in intensive care after stacking it. It's about 3 feet.
The smaller one on the left at the top of the wall that you don't seem to like is about 3 feet as well though I would think.I don't do smileys.

Thanks.
I'm not familiar with the clubhouse - what is that? Is the path off through the heather?
I was up around there today. I think you're right that the smaller of the drops near the top of the wall is probably about 3 or 4 feet. It looks more than that from the top of it though So maybe I need something a bit smaller than I previous said! I was toying with doing it but the run in is not clear and so hard to control speed, unlike the big drop which has a nice clear run in, but is way to big for me. Psychologically I'm OK with smallier flat to flat drops but the drops to down-slopes look a lot higher despite having a much nicer landing.
I'll check that area out and see if there is anything to suit.0 -
The clubhouse is the flat open area start of the downhill runs at the top of the wall.
It is a bit of a sideways run in to that drop.I don't do smileys.
