Very sad. But as long as we are aware of how sad we are, it's ok!

It could very well be a second, maybe they put the wrong font on that one, and realized it. It doesn't look too far off from the way it should be, so second is a very good possibility.

It's not even the right shape. Even if they magicked the wrong font out of nowhere, I'd stuggle to see where the crude mould came from. It isn't a second. It's a fake. If you can't see that, keep away from street sellers flogging Rolex's.

LOL! So passionate over a bottle cage!

I'm passionate about everything. (Girls, c'mon - where are you!)

Actually, it's not about the bottle cage (geddit! - Lance joke. I'm so funny.......) - just the principle of it. I don't mind cheapo Chinese carbon cages - I have them on my Ribble. It's the unnecessary fakeness of this cage. The Chinese cages are OK but they aren't great quality - the lacquer is pretty scratchy. They cost a few pennys to make. I paid about £26 for two from an importer but they are still only about £18 for two direct. That's a very healthy markup. No need to increase the markup even more to £24 for one by faking a Specialised - they are doing well enough without that. It just isn't necessary.

Just to update this thread, the seller did eventually respond. He did not confirm either way if it way fake or genuine but offered a full refund.

I've got my money back, and will now leave appropriate feedback to warn other buyers.
