Have a look at squarespace.com
They have a load of templates to choose from, but you can also customise it to hell and back. If you know your html/css, you can also create anything you want.
Check it out - there's a free trial period of about 30 days, if I remember rightly.0 -
I registered our group domain name with namesco, was about 11 quid for 2 years, and with that there was free hosting and use of their own sitebuilder program. Its a bit limited and its a flash based host which causes problems with iphones etc but its not bad.
You can check out our site at www.hombres.org.uk0 -
Have a look at http://kingleyvalemountainbikers.ning.com/. We're using the most basic ning package which is now £20 a year... but this is capped at 150 members and 1GB space, and the next package up is £170 for 10,000 members.
Also as you are local I've just sent you a PM to say Hi!Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)

How about http://www.meetup.com/
We regularly have 3 or 4 meets a week with upto 20 riders sometimes.
Some of our nutters did a midnight climb up ben lomond with the bikes and then a sunrise decent of the munro.

Google provides it's mail users with a free blog space and I'm pretty certain a free web space too. I have a blog with them and it gives you full analytics support so you can see exactly who has visited, if they are repeat visitors, how long they spend on site and what they have been looking at - this way you can see what makes your site successful.
To be fair though - I think you can sign any website up to google analytics, it's just if you have a web / blog with them it's built into the developers page.
Templates and what not make it incredble easy to build a basic site and HTML view lets you add code as you learn how to build your own site.0 -
Webfusion offer some good packages and up time is pretty good. I host a couple of sites with them. http://www.bikeandbivi.co.uk and http://www.unsponsored.co.uk the latter has been going for over 10 yrs! Setting up a blog or forum is only a few clicks as the software is already on the server.0
